# Paddle

> Connecting FirstPromoter with Paddle

FirstPromoter supports both **Paddle Classic** (v1 webhooks) and **Paddle Billing** (v2 webhooks), and automatically tracks sales, refunds, and cancellations from your Paddle account.

**Paddle Classic (v1) — tracked webhook events:**

| Paddle Event | What FirstPromoter tracks |
| - | - |
| `payment_succeeded` | Sale / commission |
| `subscription_payment_succeeded` | Sale / commission (recurring) |
| `payment_refunded` | Refund |
| `subscription_payment_refunded` | Refund (recurring) |
| `subscription_cancelled` | Cancellation |

  VAT-only refunds (`refund_type` of `vat`) are ignored.

**Paddle Billing (v2) — tracked webhook events:**

| Paddle Event | What FirstPromoter tracks |
| - | - |
| `transaction.completed` | Sale / commission |
| `adjustment.created` | Refund — only when the adjustment's `action` is `chargeback` |
| `adjustment.updated` | Refund — only when the adjustment's `action` is `refund` |
| `subscription.canceled` | Cancellation |

<Note>
  Sales with a zero or negative amount are ignored, as are refunds and chargebacks that resolve to a zero amount.

## Paddle fees and commission amounts

The Paddle integration form has an **Exclude Paddle's fees** toggle that controls the amount commissions are calculated on:

| Toggle | Commission is calculated on |
| - | - |
| Off | Your earnings **plus** Paddle's fee |
| On | Your net earnings, after Paddle's fee is deducted |

This applies to both Paddle Classic and Paddle Billing, and it affects refund amounts as well as sales.

  Changing this toggle only affects sales and refunds tracked from that point on. Commissions already recorded are not recalculated.
